Driver's license, deposit and insurance requirements

Renting a supercar in Montreal isn't much harder than a standard rental, but a few extra requirements apply. Here's what we ask of every driver. And why.

Age and license

Minimum age is 25. This limit reflects our insurer's requirements and isn't negotiable. The driver must hold a full, valid license from their jurisdiction, recognized in Quebec. International Driving Permits (IDP) are accepted when carried alongside the original license.

Identity verification

After booking payment, you receive a secure link to complete biometric verification. The process takes a few minutes: photo of your license (front and back) and a selfie. Verification must be completed within 24 hours of payment, otherwise the booking isn't guaranteed.

Insurance included

Every rental includes full coverage (liability and damage) for $50 per reservation, added automatically at checkout. You don't need your own auto insurance, and no proof of personal policy is required. The deductible in case of a claim is capped at the security deposit amount.

Security deposit

A pre-authorized deposit is held on your credit card for the duration of the rental. The amount ranges from $2,500 to $10,000 depending on the vehicle. It isn't charged. Just frozen. Release happens automatically within 5 business days after return inspection.

What can decline a rental

Three things cause most declines: a busy driving record (multiple at-fault accidents, recent revocations), a credit card not in the driver's name, or a failed ID verification. In all cases, the payment is refunded in full.

The day of handover

Bring your physical license (we already have a photo, but in-person presentation is required) and the credit card used for booking. We do a walk-around inspection together, an orientation tour of the vehicle, and you drive off with the keys.
