Why our cars stay in Quebec (and what it means for you)

·5 min read
Audi R8 by a Montreal bridge

All our vehicles must remain within the province of Quebec during the rental. No trips to Ontario, the United States, or elsewhere in Canada without prior written approval.

Why this rule

Quebec commercial insurance, SAAQ registration, and recovery logistics if something goes wrong. A $200,000+ vehicle outside covered territory = unacceptable risk for renter and agency.

Ottawa and Gatineau

Gatineau is in Quebec. You can go there. Ottawa (Ontario) is out of territory. Many visitors confuse the two: you can approach the border on the Gatineau side, not drive in Ontario.

Foreign visitors

Foreign license accepted case by case with biometric verification. Bring your original license on pickup day. No Quebec license needed. But the vehicle stays in Quebec.

Exceptions

No standard exceptions for Toronto, New York, or Vermont. Written request to concierge only for exceptional cases. Rarely approved.
